The skin whitening segment is a
growing industry. Consumers use various botanical, biotechnological or chemical
agents on the skin to achieve lighter skin tone or to remove signs of the aging
process such as age spots.

developed a unique botanical whitening active called tyrostat. This active is
extracted from a plant called Rumex occidentalis which grows in the northern Canadian
prairies region. This abundant plant is easily recognized by its hall mark
deep-rust colored seed heads glowing across the fields from early summer

communities for the wild crafting of this plant.
Tyrostat has a strong inhibitory
effect on tyrosinase. One of the main enzymes involved in the pigmentation
process. IMPERIAL PHARMACEUTICAL screens the plant material for tyrosinase
activity before it enters the extraction process to guarantee optimal activity
.In vitro and clinical data have demonstrated that Tyrostat safely reduces skin
pigmentation and erythema for a more uniformed and lighter skin complexion. It
also has outstanding result in the reduction of the appearance of age spots.

versions Tyrostat -09 (regular version) and Tyrostat (With ascorbic acid)

TYROSINASE INHIBITION
COMPARATIVE STUDY
This study shows the controlling
step of melanin formation.L-DOPA is oxidized to the corresponding guanine by
the tyroinase enzyme. Result were presented as inhibition levels relative to a
negative control. Hydroquinone,Arbutin,andTumeric are used for comparison.
Tyrostat is more effective than other skin lightening actives. Moreover,Tyrostat
has no unwanted side effects, Unlike some of these other actives.
IMPROVEMENT OF SKIN HYPERPIGMENTATION
Reduction of skin tan and redness
Spectrometric analysis showed that TyrostatTM reduces skin pigmentation
by limiting both melanin production (tan) and skin reddening (erythema).
Age spots reduction
Test protocol 9 volunteers
applied 2x/day a 3% TyrostatTM-11 cream for 6 weeks.
Tyrostat has been shown effective in reducing the appearance of age
spots. Visible signs of color reduction were observed already after 3 weeks.
Lightening improvement
in Asian skin
Test protocol 50 Asian (female)
volunteers applied a whitening cream containing 2% TyrostatTM-11 and 4%
Melanostatine® 5, 2x/day for 4 weeks.
